Historical works
In this part you will find relevant historical literature with volunteerism as an overarching topic and general historical overviews of the voluntary sector in Scandinavia.
It is first and foremost studies of different individual organisations like e.g. humanitarian or philantropic organisations, faith organisations, self help groups, women's organisations, consumer organisations and sports organisations. We have also collected general historical works on the voluntary sector in Scandinavia. This is a field which is increasingly studied internationally and some recent English historical works are included in order to show how this field is deveolping within the history field.
